Westmoreland recalls Buckingham mine workforce and resumes deliveries

Westmoreland Coal Co, the oldest independent coal company in the US, is recalling the workforce at the Buckingham mine and resumes deliveries as of 7 December. This comes after the completion of repairs at American Electric Power’s Conesville Unit 4. Conesville Unit 4 is the largest account supplied by Westmoreland in Ohio, US.
“AEP is an important customer of both Buckingham and Westmoreland Coal. We are excited to resume deliveries and continue to develop our relationship with this key customer,” commented Kevin Paprzycki, Chief Executive Officer.
Westmoreland’s coal operations include sub-bituminous and lignite surface coal mining in the Western US and Canada, an underground bituminous coal mine in Ohio, a char production facility, and a 50% interest in an activated carbon plant.
