EIA release Week 2 2015 US coal production estimate

Estimated US coal production totaled about 18.9 million short t for the week ending 10 January, according to the latest estimate from the US Energy Information Administration, a rise of 7.3% on last week and 4.6% on the same week in 2014.
Production east of the Mississippi totaled 7.9 million short t, while to the west of the river totaled 11 million short t. This compares to 7.2 million t east of the Mississippi last week and 10.4 million short t in the west.
Year-to-date coal production has totaled 26.5 million short t – 3.2% up on the same period last year
