Foresight Energy idles operations at Deer Run Mine

World Coal,
Foresight Energy recently resumed longwall mining operations at its Deer Run Mine in Pennsylvania under the plan approved by the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). It was indicated these operations would continue until the company arrived at a location where the longwall could be recovered safely and it was able to change to a new longwall district. The company has been working with regulatory agencies throughout the process to fully resume mining operations at the mine.
However as a result of elevated carbon monoxide readings, Foresight has temporarily idled the operations and withdrawn underground mining personnel from its Deer Run Mine. After these levels are reduced and stablised, the company will restart the completion of the current longwall move and fully resume regular longwall mining operations at the mine.
