Fatality at Czech coal mine
Coal miner New World Resources (NWR) has confirmed the fatality of an employee at its Darkov Mine in the Czech Republic.
NWR announced that a 41-year-old worker of its subsidiary OKD died at the surface workplace on Saturday 5th April.
“NWR expresses its deepest condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the deceased worker,” the company said.
An investigative committee comprising members of the District Mining Authority in Ostrava, Darkov Mine management, OKD management, the OKD Trade Unions representatives, and the police is now conducting an enquiry into the accident.
