AMFIRE Mining sells Pennsylvanian coal assets

AMFIRE Mining, a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources (ANR), has completed the sale of its assets to Rosebud Mining for US$86 million. The assets include ten mines, as well as four preparation plants and loadouts, across seven counties in Pennsylvania.
Following the transaction, ANR’s Pennsylvanian assets will comprise only the Emerald and Cumberland mines in the southwest of the state.
