Stanmore ramps up coal sales in 3Q16

Stanmore Coal completed eight shipments totalling 0.286 million t in 3Q17, according to the company’s latest quarterly production report. This marks at 83% increase on the previous quarter’s coal sales of 0.156 million t.
Total ROM production was also up, rising 28% to 0.394 million in 3Q16 from 0.309 million t in 2Q16. In the first nine months of the year, the company production 0.739 million t with saleable coal production of 0.511 million t.
In addition to the strong production and sales figures, the company reported a US$56 per tonne increase in the 4Q16 benchmark price to US$130 per tonne compared to 3Q16. The new benchmark will apply after delivery of any carry-over tonnes from 3Q16, which the company expects from mid-November to February 2017.
Coal sales were split 86% metallurgical coal and 14% thermal coal.
