AUMUND Fördertechnik acquires Besta & Meyer

World Coal,

AUMUND Fördertechnik has assumed the spare parts services of the manufacturing company Besta & Meyer.

The company said that by acquiring Besta & Meyer, it would pool the know how of several companies under one roof, as well as focus expansion on the after sales service and inspection services for AUMUND’s Premas™. The company added that the acquisition strengthened its market position as a provider for trough chain conveyors and silo and hopper discharge systems.

AUMUND previously acquired manufacturing company Louise in the early 1990s, and followed that purchase with the takeover of WTW Engineering in 2006. Both Louise and WTW were focussed on engineering, patents, production and sales structures for hopper discharge systems and trough chain conveyors. The company said that, because of this history, the acquisition of Besta & Meyer was s straightforward and logical one: allowing the company to pool the know-how and experience of multiple companies under one roof.

“By Acquiring Besta & Meyer, [the company] reinforces its technology leadership in systems solutions and its product range anew,” AUMUND said in a statement. It added that the acquisition expanded the company’s sales and service activities with the international raw and bulk materials industry.

“The acquisition of the wear and spare parts service of Besta & Meyer is again linked to the acquisition of patents, engineering drawings, spare parts lists and machine files with the detailed machine history. Therefore, the continued support of the Besta & Meyer client base is secured” AUMUND’s statement continued.

The company said that for clients and users working with the AUMUND group, it offered them the branded AUMUND Premas, in which inspectors and supervicors perform machine inspections and onsite training.

AUMUND has production and distribution sites in Germany, the Americas, India and East Asia. These sites are supplemented by company spare parts warehouses in Germany, the US and Hong Kong, as well as offices worldwide.
