FLSmidth receive order from PetroVietnam

Danish engineering company, FLSmidth, has received an order for coal handling equipment for a coal-fired power plants in the Thai Binh province of Vietnam from PetroVietnam.
Coal handling in Vietnam
The order, which comprises various grab unloaders, portal scraper reclaimers, tripper cars and belt conveyors, is worth approximately US$55 million. According to a company press statement, the equipment will have an unloading capacity of 1400 tph and a reclaiming capacity of 1200 tph.
Vietnamese power shortages
Commenting on the order, Group CEO, Carsten Lund, noted the potential of the Vietnam market for future coal handling equipment orders. The country plans to build a number of coal-fired power plants in the future to help deal with its serious power shortages. It is the second such order that FLSmidth has received from PetroVietnam.
