World Coal,
Voith is purchasing parts of the materials handling specialist Hese based in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The existing production site of Hese in Gelsenkirchen however will not be taken over.
On 12 November 2014, the company had filed a request to open insolvency proceedings. The acquired sections will be integrated into the Voith Turbo Division Mining & Metals.
Hese is recognised in the mining industry for its development of the carrying belt and pushing belt drive.
The Division Mining & Metals, into which the acquired sections of Hese are to be integrated, develops and produces, among others, coupling technologies as well as drive packages. The company's products are used for the extraction and the transport of raw materials in underground and open cast mines.
