Update on Crown Mountain permitting process

Jameson Resources Ltd has announced  progress towards gaining necessary permits for its Crown Mountain metallurgical coal project in Canada.

The company has submitted a project description (PD) to the Canadian and provincial governments. The PD is used by regulators to confirm that a project requires the completion of an environmental assessment (EA). Once the PD has been accepted, the project enters the pre-application phase of the EA process.

Jameson submitted a draft PD in September and has received comments from the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA). A final PD has now been provided to the Agencies.

As part of the EA process, consultation activities will be expanded and will include engagement with First Nations, governmental, local, and other entities.

Jameson completed a prefeasibility study (PFS) in August that projected outstanding economics for Crown Mountain, with hard metallurgical coal as the main product. The EA process is the next step in obtaining the necessary permits to construct and operate an opencast mine.

As contained in the PFS, the project schedule currently anticipates the permitting process will be concluded by mid-2016, followed by mine construction, with first production in late 2017.

Jameson continues to collect the necessary field data required for the full EA submission and other supporting permits. The company said in a statement that it remained committed to fast-tracking the EA and permitting processes for Crown Mountain.
