Adani to develop coal block
Adani Enterprises has announced that it has been selected as the mine developer and operator (MDO) of a coal block in Orissa, India.
The Chendipada block has a mining capacity of 40 million tpa. The company will begin development and operation, and deliver washed coal to the end users in UP, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
The company will also set up a 2000 MW capacity power generation project to utilize the coal washery rejects, in joint venture with UCM (Adani will hold an 89% stake).
