CCCC Second Harbour Consultants has been awarded a contract for phase one of a coal storage and transportation hub in Jingzhou, Hubei Province in China. The contract is valued at RMB41.28 million.

The rail/river transportation hub will have a planned capacity of 40 million tpa with a terminal throughput of 21 million tpa. Phase one includes the construction of four coal export berths with a capacity of 3000 t each, two coal import berths with a capacity of 3000 t and support facilities for coal storage and distribution.

The project will help to reduce coal handling costs and meet the country’s demand for emergency coal storage, ensuring coal supply to Hubei and its neighbouring provinces along the Yangtze River.
