EIA release US coal production estimate for week ending 12 September 2015

Weekly production at US coal mines totalled 17.4 million short t in the week ending 12 September, according to the latest weekly coal production estimate from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). This estimate is 6.7% lower than the previous week’s estimate and 11.2% down in comparison with the same week in 2014.
Coal production east of the Mississippi River was 7 million short t. West of the river, production reached 10.4 million short t.
Total production for the year now stands at 637.8 million short t, 8.4% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
