Loesche to sell four pre-owned refurbished coal mills

Loesche GmbH is to sell its pre-owned coal mills for grinding coal from a coal-fired power plant in Belgium. These were first commissioned in 1984.

The power plant was operated by Electrabel Belgium and had been decommissioned in 2014 as a result of economical reasons. Loesche was able to repurchase at least four of these mills, type LM 20.2D and LM 19.2D and will resell these.

The mills had always been kept in correct condition, yet they will be completely refurbished and equipped with a new classifier customised for future technical specifications.

The refurbished mills together with the partially new components can be sold by Loesche with a price reduction of 50% compared to new mills.

According to the company, the availability and reliability of the refurbished mills are equal to newly manufactured mills.

The mentioned refurbished mills are not limited to one feed material but can be used for various feed material.

For the refurbished 2x LM 20.2D and 2x LM 19.2D, Loesche gives a warranty of six months for the second hand parts and 12 months for the new ones.

The load data and throughput of those mills depend on the material composition, moisture and desired product fineness. The range of capacity is between 15 – 50 tph (dry base). The specific material characteristics and guarantee values need to be confirmed by a grinding test.

The sale of the mill(s) will be carried out according to the first come first serve principal as demand for Loesche second hand mills is expected to be high.

In the past when coal plants close, Loesche had always tried to purchase back the mills and find clients for these.

In the last six years, Loesche has refurbished and sold the following second hand mills: 4 x LM 19.20D, 5 x LM 17.20D, 3 x LM 16/1180, 7 x LM 14.20D, 2 x LM 12.20D and 1 x LM 9/670. All these mills are in operation with different raw materials.
