US coal company, Arch Coal, has kicked off its 2017 Teacher Achievement Awards Programme in West Virginia and Wyoming – the longest running privately-sponsored teacher recognition programme in both states.
“Arch Coal relies on superior classroom teachers to engage and instruct their students so they will become leaders in the workforce, pillars of our communities and well-rounded citizens of our nation,” said Deck Slone, Senior Vice President of Arch Coal.
Ten teachers in each state will receive a US$3500 personal cash award. Nominations will close 9 January 2017 with recipients of the award named in spring. Winners are selected by a panel of past recipients in each state.
