US coal company, Armstrong Energy, has recorded a 2Q16 loss of US$15 million on the back of weak sales and falling prices.

Glencore has reported reductions in its production in its 1H16 production report, with coal coming in at 14% lower than in 2H15.

Paringa Resources appoints Rick McCormick, an experienced US coal executive, as a Non-Executive Director of Paringa.

Vivek Bhatia has been appointed CEO of thyssenkrupp Asia Pacific.
