West Virginia Coal Association and Friends of Coal Thank the State Senate for Passing the Coal Jobs and Safety Act of 2015

In the latest in a series of efforts to address climate change, the US state of California has called on two of the largest US pension funds to divest from coal.

Rio Tinto Energy lost US$210 million in 2014 as coal prices continued to drop.

Swiss-based commodities giant, Glencore, has released its 2014 production report, showing coal production up 6% on the previous year, although prices continued to suffer.
