Patriot Coal relocates to West Virginia
US coal mining firm, Patriot Coal Corp., has relocated its corporate headquarters to Scott Depot, West Virginia.
President of Patriot, Bennett K. Hatfield, said the move from St. Louis “will accomplish dual objectives of reducing administrative costs and positioning the corporate headquarters in closer proximity to our mining operations and customers.”
“The transition of the new Patriot headquarters is PO Box 1001, 63 Corporate Centre Drive, Scott Depot, West Virginia 25560,” Hatfield added.
Reducing costs will be high on the minds of Patriot, which was embroiled in a long-running dispute with mining unions after it filed for bankruptcy in 2013.
The coal mining firm controls approximately 1.4 billion t of proven and probably coal reserves.
