The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has consolidated plans to build Oman’s first clean coal-fired independent power project.
The project is planned to have a generation capacity of 1200 MW and is to be located at Duqm, about 530 km south of Muscat.
This new development aligns with Oman’s vision of diversifying energy sources.
The OPWP has announced the launch of the qualification process for the developer through the issuance of a Request for Qualification (RFQ).
According to the company, the RFQ tender document is available to purchase from the offices of OPWP from Sunday 15 April until Tuesday 24 April.
