Tajikistan fulfils coal production target for 2014
Tajikistan has reached its coal production target for 2014 with two months to spare. The country has now produced over 710 000 t of coal, thereby beating the previously determined target of 700 000 t.
Coal production is now up by 262 000 t compared to 2013, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).
The development of the Asian country’s coal industry has seen the numbers of coal-fired enterprises grow – more than 160 now operate in Tajikistan.
“To-date, more than 56 000 t of coal have been stored in warehouses, storehouses of industrial enterprises and coal-selling outlets,” an official source at a MoINT said.
