Wyoming coal production on the up
Coal production in Wyoming is on the up, but exports from the state continue to decline – that is, according to the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Wyoming produced 187 million t of coal in H1 2014, compared to 183 million t in the same period over 2014. However, total exports fell 16% to 52.3 million t.
The fall in exports continues a decline that began in 2012 and as yet shows no sign of abating, as increased coal production worldwide reduces competitiveness of US coal.
