QGC awards A$19.5 million gas fields contract
QGC Pty Limited, developer of the Queensland Curtis LNG Project, has awarded a A$19.5 million contract to Australian firm Transfield Services for gas field work in the Surat Basin of Queensland.
The five-year contract, which is expected to generate A$10 million of work in the first year, includes capital works and plant maintenance for the QCLNG Project’s gas field operations.
It also includes other services directly related to the project such as fabrication and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work.
Transfield Services has indicated it intends to use several local contractors under the contract and will permanently relocate personnel to the Chinchilla area to enhance capacity in the region to support the industry.
QGC’s parent company, BG Group, will invest US$ 15 billion in the QCLNG Project by 2014.
