Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has vowed to fight to make sure companies mining in the state can export coal overseas.

In his first State of the State address, Gordon said that there has been progress benefiting our world by burning coal more cleanly and efficiently.

He said that technologies in Japan and South Korea, “when paired with Powder River Basin, coal can reduce the overall carbon emitted to our atmosphere.”

He was met with cheers and a standing ovation when he stated that he believed that tying up access to Asian markets through permitting was “an unconstitutional restraint of trade.”
