Nick Jorss – the managing director who led Stanmore Coal through the acquisition and start-up of Isaac Plains coal mine – has resigned as a director of the company. According to a company announcement, Jorss will leave the business to “pursue other business interests”.
In October, the company announced the Jorss was to become Deputy Chairman of the company with Dan Clifford to take the role of Managing Director. Clifford had been CEO of New Zealand coal miner, Solid Energy.
“Nick leaves the business in a strong position with the ramp-up of Isaac Plains to target production volumes complete and our new managing director in place,” said Neville Sneddon, Stanmore’s Chairman.
Jorss will continue to assist with the leadership transition and remains a significant shareholder in the company. Separately, the company also announced that, Viv Forbes had tendered his resignation as a non-executive director and would be leading the board.
