Dart Energy has decided to delay its proposal to drill 22 boreholes across Scotland’s Lethan Moss until after the independence referendum.
A note released by the Falkirk Council reads:
‘The appeal by Dart Energy against Falkirk Council's failure to determine its application for the development of a site on Letham Moss for coalbed methane production is being progressed by the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA).”
Two reporters – Karen Heywood and David Bullya - have now been appointed to consider the appeals. Given the technicality of the information involved, following an initial assessment they have opted for a lengthy process based on cross examination and inquiry sessions.
Independence referendum
Councils and appellant were asked to file additional environment information by 5th June 2014, as well as to submit a joint statement explaining both resolved and unresolved matters. The pre-examination meeting is set to be in the first half of October, after the September independence referendum.
