Flexco has added a new FMS medium-duty secondary cleaner to its belt clean products range. It is made with heavy-duty steel with a corrosion-resistant powder coating.

It is ideal for use on mining conveyors with belt speeds up to 1000 ft/min. (5 m/sec.) and can be used for belt widths ranging from 18 in. to 72 in. (450 mm to 1800 mm); more sizes are available upon request.

The cleaner has 6 in. (150 mm) wide metal blades with a thin hard edge to provide cleaning efficiency and long wear life. It is built with a spring tensioner to ensure there is consistent belt-to-blade contact and constant pressure on the belt. Impact-resistant C-Tip tungsten carbide blades are available for use with Flexco mechanical splices.

“The spring cushion allows the C-tips to move away from a passing splice without damage and with minimal cleaning disruption,” commented Ryan Grevenstuk, Senior Product Manager for Flexco. “V-tips, for use with vulcanised belts, are also available on the FMS.”
