Prairie Mining, developer of the Lublin coal project in Poland, is to apply for listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), according to a company press release.

“Our decision to list on the LES and WSE represents a major strategic move for Prairie in the development and financing of our world class Lublin coal project in Poland, which will align the company’s future investor base with our project and our UK and Polish executive team,” said Ben Stoikovich, CEO of Prairie Mining.

The Lublin coal project is a large-scale thermal and semi-soft coking coal development across four coal exploration concessions next to the current Bogdanka mine in southeast Poland. The project has a current coal resource estimate of 1.6 billion t.

The company has also appointed Miroslaw Taras, former Chairman of the Management Board of Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka, to support the Lublin development full time. Taras, who oversaw the privatisation of Bogdanka via an IPO on the WSE, will also join the Supervisory Board of Prairies’ Polish subsidiary.
